Kaiaponi Farms is a Gisborne based orcharding company growing Apples, Gold kiwifruit and Feijoas.
The company also operates a commercial fruit packing facility packing apples, feijoas and citrus.
We are currently seeking to attract an experienced and suitably qualified Apple Crop Manager to lead our apple division and staff. They will be responsible for both the operational and financial performance of our apple orchards.
The company operates multiple orchard sites (55ha) and has made a significant investment in intensive dwarf tree growing systems and key performing apple varieties.
Future development is already planned through to 2017 and we need the right person to both drive production and development with attention to detail, excellence and profit.
You will need to be able to demonstrate;
• Experience in both Apple Production and Management.
• Abilities in planning, execution, record keeping and analysis.
• Set targets and challenge existing practices.
• Leadership and motivation of others.
• Effective communication skills at all levels.
• Management of the related compliance requirements.
• Practical hands on growing experience.
• Knowledge of Pest and Disease Management and Agrichemical programmes.
