KEY POINTS:
Police are appealing for a key witness to a road fatality near Wanganui to come forward.
Georgina Maud Mareikura, 59, from Palmerston North, was killed in a car crash on State Highway 3, just south of Wanganui on November 29.
She was driving a dark-coloured Honda towards Wanganui there was a head-on collision with a dark-coloured Holden , just after 7am.
T hree cars in the immediate area were travelling towards Palmerston North at the time of the crash, Wanganui police said.
The first was believed to have swerved to avoid a collision with Mrs Mariekura's Honda, then continued on its journey.
The second car collided with Mrs Mariekura's car, while the driver of the third told police what he saw.
Police wanted to speak to the driver of the first car, believed to be an old style, dark-coloured Nissan.
The driver of the Holden was in a serious but stable condition in Hutt Hospital.
