The Government lashed out at Labour leader Helen Clark yesterday after she criticised its approach to Apec.
Helen Clark said the Government was obsessed with free trade, an issue which had "run out of steam" within Apec, and more focus was needed on economic cooperation and social and human rights issues.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Don McKinnon, said the Government was obsessed with creating opportunities for exporters and jobs for New Zealanders.
"Labour has its head in the sand…Miss Clark appears confused, is genuflecting to the Alliance, and wants to have a bet each way."
