Armed police have stormed a Wellington house to end a more-than four hour search operation, reports say.
The armed offenders squad had been scouring Wainuiomata since receiving reports of people driving dangerously around 10:30am.
They cordoned off access roads in and out of the suburb and searched cars before surrounding a house, TVNZ reported.
Armed police stormed in around 2:20pm, it reported.
Police inspector Ken Climo said the armed offenders squad operation was now over.
He could not confirm whether arrests had been made, but said people could now feel safe to go home and pick up their children from school in Wainuiomata.
