Anti whaling protestor Pete Bethune is likely to hear his fate from Japanese authorities today.
Mr Bethune has been in custody since climbing aboard the Shonan Maru 2 to make a citizen's arrest of its captain in the Southern Ocean last month. He faces a trespassing charge.
Mr Bethune's lawyer Daniel Harris expects to find out today whether Japanese authorities will push forward with the charges, or drop them completely.
