The sounds of Auckland's central business district were overtaken with those of whale calls as anti-whaling protesters made their way Auckland's Queen St this afternoon as part of International Anti-Whaling Day protests.
Scores took to the streets, including many in body paint and costumes, followed by a vehicle carrying a fake whale and playing whale calls over loud speaker.
Sea Shepherd's Annie Robinson was one of those to take part and said the march was to protest against whaling as the Japanese prepare to set off for another hunt in Antarctic waters.
