An anti-fluoride group's attempt to challenge the decision to add the chemical to the water supply in two Taranaki town's has been rejected by a High Court judge.
New Health New Zealand Inc sought a judicial review of the South Taranaki District Council's December 2012 decision to add fluoride to Patea and Waverley's drinking water.
It alleged the council had no legal power to do so and the decision breached the right to refuse medical assistance.
In a decision released today Justice Rodney Hansen rejected the group's claims.
