Flood-hit Matata in the Bay of Plenty has been rocked by a small earthquake early this morning -- one of many to strike the damaged area since floods damaged the area in May.
The quake hit at 12.01am and measured 3.4 in magnitude.
It was 5km deep and centred within 5km of Matata.
This morning's quake was the third since floods and mudslides devastated the area in May forcing 250 residents to flee their homes.
