A woman was injured after she was hit by a bus in Wellington's Manners Street this afternoon, the sixth pedestrian to be knocked down since the new two-way bus route was opened in November.
The accident happened about 5pm and the woman was taken Wellington Hospital in a serious condition.
Police were investigating the accident and were still at the scene, a spokesman said.
The council last year spent $70,000 in a marketing campaign to promote the new bus route changes, and employed staff to patrol the route.
