A New Zealander caught with more than 15,000 child porn images on his computer has been bailed to live within a few hundred metres of an English school, angering parents.
Ian Hawkins was banned from coming into contact with children under 17 after admitting the offences at Gloucester Crown Court.
Parents told thisisgloustershire.co.uk they should have been told about the conviction of the 46-year-old New Zealander because he lives so close to Cinderford Primary School.
"I am very shocked nobody told us," said mother-of-two Elaine Trigg, 22. "I know people will say it's only images."
According to the website, most of the 15,600 images uncovered on his computer were graded level one, the least serious. But there were about 200 at levels two, three and four and two pictures at the most serious level five.
Hawkins admitted 10 charges of making, and one of possessing, indecent photographs of a child.
The court heard Hawkins was of previous good character and admitted he had been accessing child porn "for a number of years".
