His Progressive Party's polling is so low he is on the verge of losing his only colleague, hard-working Matt Robson.
Jim Anderton says Mr Robson has made a very good contribution to parliament.
He says it was also Matt Robson's private members' bill that achieved four weeks' paid annual leave.
Meanwhile, National's Bob Clarkson is still waiting for a call from Winston Peters.
He snatched the Tauranga seat from the New Zealand First leader, who had held it for the past 21 years.
