Auckland officials will meet police this morning to discuss the exact time, day and route of a welcome-home ticker tape parade for the 71 victorious members of Team NZ.
The team is due home on Wednesday next week, with a parade likely later that week.
Team NZ boss Grant Dalton said the plan was for the team to leave Bermuda on Sunday and fly to Dubai, the base of major sponsor Emirates, and then arrive back in New Zealand on Wednesday.
"We just can't wait to get home," Dalton said.
Ateed chief executive Brett O'Riley confirmed plans for a victory parade were already underway.
However Queen St has been ruled out for the parade route due to the high level of construction work in central Auckland.
