Two American students, overdue on a tramping trip over Arthur's Pass, have walked out of the bush.
Concerns had been held for Alec Brown and Erica Kintworth, both 21, because friends believed they were not well equipped for extreme conditions, and there has been heavy snow and sub-zero temperatures in
the area for several days.
The pair set off on June 1 over the pass and were expected to return between Monday and Wednesday last week.
They were reported missing to police by friends on Saturday evening.
Newstalk ZB reported a short time ago the pair were now safe and well.
