An ambulance has crashed and rolled onto its roof as heavy rain causes disruption across Wellington.
The ambulance crashed at the intersection of Vivian and Victoria streets. It was not immediately known if there were any injuries.
Police reported several other accidents and traffic delays this afternoon.
There were major hold-ups on State Highway 2 as a result of an earlier accident at Horokiwi in which a person was trapped.
In another incident, a car slipped off the motorway northbound on State Highway 1 just before the Tawa off ramp. No injuries were reported there.
Inspector James Taare of the police communications centre said: "There is a heavy rain warning from the Met Office for the Upper Hutt area for the next four to five hours.
"There may be delays to traffic. Motorists are advised to drive with care."
