A Christchurch ambulance is out of action after being struck by a car while the crew was at an incident last night.
St John was called to Hills Road at 9 o'clock. Police were also in attendance.
District Operations Manager Tony Dowell says while the ambulance crew was treating a patient in the ambulance, it was hit by a car.
He says the ambulance has been damaged badly and was not able to be driven, and it is too early to tell whether it will even be able to be repaired.
None of the crew was harmed. Police are investigating the incident which is believed to have been deliberate.
