Amber-Rose murder-accused's home tagged

Taggers have defaced the home of the man accused of murdering Dunedin teenager Amber-Rose Rush.

Words including "murderer" and "die" have been tagged on the property in recent weeks, Stuff reports.

The 30-year-old man has been in custody since his arrest just days after 16-year-old Amber-Rose was found dead at her Corstorphine home on February 3.

The man, who has name and occupation suppression, will apply for electronically monitored bail at a hearing on April 9.

Police confirmed they were investigating the tagging incident and said "there is nothing further we can say at this stage", Stuff reports.

The tags have been removed.

The man pleaded not guilty to murder, four charges of threatening to kill and another charge – the details of which have been suppressed.

His lawyer has lodged an appeal over the lifting of his name suppression to the Court of Appeal.

Other details relating to the case remain suppressed.

A trial is set down for March 18, 2019.

Amber-Rose was farewelled at a colourful funeral on February 10 where she was described as the ''life of the party'', who acted tough but was a ''marshmallow'' on the inside.
