Designer Tom Ford lamented recently in a Vogue article how American men don't wear fashion any more, they dress for comfort. "I just don't understand that at all."
In London, however, men - and women - take style risks, he says. "I love the people the most: the humour, the manners, the irreverence, the wackiness, the fearlessness about fashion."
In this week's special men's Issue of Viva, we've set out to prove that you can have style and comfort. For our shoot, "The Suits", we asked the leaders in New Zealand men's fashion to show how they personally walk this sartorial line.
And then we hit the streets and, reassuringly, found plenty of other Kiwi guys looking the part - take a look at who we found here.
But beauty - as they say in a women's world - is only skin deep. As our men's editor Andrew Glenn has written today, there's nothing more attractive than a man with good manners. And I have to agree.
