KEY POINTS:
Bay of Plenty college students have been offered an alternative exam venue after a crash this morning.
Three people were taken to hospital, one in a serious condition after a truck and a car collided at Kaimai 25km southwest of Tauranga completely blocking State Highway 29.
New Zealand Qualifications Authority communications advisor Angela Perez said students who could not reach Tauranga could head to Matamata High School to sit their exams.
Extra exams had also been made available at Aquinas College in Tauranga for those able to get through the blockage.
If either of these options were not possible, students should go to the nearest secondary school, she said.
