A Wellington man is in a serious condition after being stabbed multiple times while allegedly taking part in a home invasion.
Wellington police have cordoned off a property in Rodrigo Rd, Kilbirnie, and begun a scene investigation after the incident last night.
Detective Senior Sergeant Donna Howard of Wellington CIBsaid two men with their faces covered and armed with a knife approached the house about 7pm.
They demanded money and property from the occupants and an altercation occurred.
"During the struggle one of the occupants has received minor wounds while one of the males who approached the property has received multiple stab wounds," she said.
