An arrest warrant has been issued for a Christchurch man accused of punching and kicking two dogs after he failed to appear in court this morning.
John Noel Taukiri, a 44-year-old from Aranui, has been charged with ill-treating the animals on September 8.
He received a registrar's remand earlier this month and was due in Christchurch District Court today.
But when he failed to appear, Judge Garry Barkle issued a warrant for his arrest.
