A man alleged to have killed his partner's two-year-old child has been remanded in custody after breaching bail.
Michael Joseph Martin was to appear at the High Court at Auckland this morning but failed to show up when his case was called shortly after 9am.
Justice Timothy Brewer issued a warrant for Martin's arrest.
The 23-year-old mechanic from Mangere turned up later in the morning and was arrested by police.
He has been charged with murder and failing to provide the necessaries of life thereby committing manslaughter, after Leilani Mary-Jane Lotonu'u-Lorigan was found dead at a Manurewa home on June 9.
