A man charged over two suspicious fires in Wainuiomata has been charged with another eight counts of arson.
The 43-year-old Porirua man was yesterday charged with the suspicious fires at the Wainuiomata Gospel Hall and the Wainuiomata Pioneer Church.
He has now been charged with a further eight arsons and one attempted arson.
These include the fire at Tony's Tyre Service and the fire at Porirua Gospel Church on Saturday, as well as the fires at St Albans Church in Pauatahanui, the Seatoun Scout Hall, the Horouta Ki Poneke Marae, an unoccupied house in Kenepuru's Bluff Road, a portaloo blaze in the main street of Tawa and a rubbish truck fire in Petone's Adelaide Street on Sunday.
The attempted arson charge relates to a failed fire at the Karori Church Chapel on Sunday.
The 43 year old man has appeared in the Lower Hutt District Court this afternoon on the 10 charges, and has been remanded in custody to reappear on Thursday.
