All details relating to an incident for which a woman faced two serious charges were suppressed at a sitting of Christchurch District Court in Rangiora today.
Judge Colin Doherty made the order suppressing the woman's name and "all details of the alleged offence and offending" after she made two appearances in court following a weekend incident.
The 30-year-old woman appeared very distressed at her first appearance so she was stood down so she could be seen by a psychiatrist before her case was called again, with David Stringer acting as defence counsel.
At that second appearance, Judge Doherty remanded her to a secure facility at Christchurch Hillmorton Hospital for a psychiatric assessment.
She is due to next appear in court on May 2.
