An ad starring rugby players Mils Muliaina, Stephen Donald and Richard Kahui turned all black for Sky TV when the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) ruled it offside.
It showed the trio squabbling over the television remote control, until a voice-over stated that for just $25 a month you could all watch different channels in different rooms.
Viewer H. Rich complained to the ASA that for that to be possible, it would actually cost an extra $50 - not $25 - for the three All Blacks, as each additional Sky decoder costs $25.
Sky said the references to "you" could all watch different channels on different TVs meant "you" the viewer, not the three All Blacks.
The majority of the ASA members did not accept that reasoning, saying consumers would believe they would receive at least two decoders for their $25.
