It's been three years between visits but television presenter Alison Mau is back on Breakfast.
TVNZ has named Mau as the official Breakfast back-up host, filling in for Paul Henry and Pippa Wetzell, and newsreader Peter Williams, when the need arises.
Mau used to co-host Breakfast with Henry but left the programme in early 2005 to work for Prime Television.
After a three year absence, Mau made a surprise appearance on Breakfast on Tuesday, filling in for Wetzell who was travelling to Christchurch to host the Halberg Awards with Mau's husband, Simon Dallow.
Mau is currently in Australia but will make her next appearance on Breakfast in early March, when Williams takes annual leave.
