Seasonal toxic algae problems at Masterton's Henley Lake have lessened and health warnings regarding contact with the water have been lifted.
The toxic algae, scientifically known as cyanobacteria, has been the scourge of the lake and some other waterways most summers in recent years and was again detected in Henley Lake in late January this year.
This prompted warnings to people visiting the lake to stay clear of the water.
Dog owners were also told to keep their dogs on leads.
But yesterday Masterton District Council's parks and facilities manager Grant Hathaway said tests carried out over the last two weeks have shown cyanobacteria levels are falling.
