Police have launched two missing persons inquiries this week after the disappearance of a man and a woman in separate parts of the country.
In Auckland, concern is growing for the wellbeing of Shane Douglas Hyslop, who has no means of transport and has not touched his bank account in two weeks.
The 27-year-old was last seen by his mother, whom he was visiting in Tauranga, at 4pm on August 18.
After saying goodbye to her Mr Hyslop boarded a bus to Auckland and went to his father's house in Panmure.
He took his bags inside and left them in his room but did not unpack them.
He has not been seen since and has failed to make contact with friends or family, Sergeant Paul Reeves said.
Mr Hyslop is described as 165-170cm tall, of thin to medium build, with short brown hair. He has tattoos on his forearms and lower leg.
Meanwhile, Christchurch police are trying to find Emma Leah Currie, who has been missing since 4pm on Thursday.
The 26-year-old is believed to be driving a silver Honda Civic, registration LY2511. She is a Pakeha of medium build, about 165cm tall, with dark brown shoulder-length hair and piercings in her lip, chin and ears.
