An 18-year-old man has been flown to Wellington Hospital's intensive care unit with serious head injuries after a car rolled down a bank in Hawke's Bay overnight.
Four other men, aged 18 to 20, suffered minor injuries when the vehicle left the road in Waimarama, near Havelock North, about 3am and rolled 30m down a bank, Eastern Districts serious crash investigator Senior Constable Tim Rowe said.
Alcohol appeared to be a factor, he said.
The serious crash unit was investigating.
