Passengers at an Auckland airport domestic terminal were briefly evacuated as they were waiting for a flight this afternoon.
An alarm went off at gates 15 and 16 about 2.20pm, forcing what was described as a "partial evacuation".
Auckland Airport spokesman Richard Llewellyn said the alarm stopped quite quickly and passengers were quickly given the all-clear to return to the gate.
"We're not sure why it went off, but we understand there was some work being done in the area and our investigations are focusing on that," he said.
Mr Llewellyn said there were no delays as a result.
