KEY POINTS:
Talks on the future of about 1700 passenger and groundhandling services jobs at Air New Zealand began yesterday.
The talks, between the Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union and the airline, are being held in Auckland in an effort to stop the outsourcing of the services.
Air New Zealand said contracting out its airport services at Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch could save $20 million.
