Aircraft veers off runway

Emergency services were called to Whangarei Airport at around 1pm today after a single-engined private aircraft veered of the runway.

The pilot was the only occupant and was uninjured, Inspector Andrew Brill said.


The aircraft was reported to be homemade.

The Lancair 235 home built aircraft suffered a flat tyre in the incident, which will be reported to the Civil Aviation Authority.
