Organisers of Wings Over Wairarapa 2015 are hoping to encourage a new generation of air show enthusiasts by offering Wairarapa intermediate and primary school students and their families the opportunity to attend January's three day air show at Masterton's Hood Aerodrome at an affordable price.
For a limited time any adult ticket purchased will also receive a free ticket for a child attending one of these school.
The initiative is being sponsored by Wairarapa Reap. As an added bonus for every adult ticket purchased through this offer, the school will receive a rebate of 1 per cent. For example one adult ticket costs $50, with $5 going back to the child's school.
Wings Over Wairarapa 2015 will be held over Wellington Anniversary Weekend, January 16-18. The air show will span 100 years of aviation history and showcase some of the first flying machines right through to the latest aircraft, including Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), which are continually pushing the limits of technology.
There will also be on-the ground entertainment, including military re-enactments, a family-friendly area and retail tent village.
