KEY POINTS:
Air New Zealand's postponed biofuel-powered test flight will now take off next week.
The flight was originally scheduled earlier this month but was postponed in the wake of the airline's Airbus crash off the French coast.
Representatives from Boeing, Rolls-Royce and biofuel specialist Honeywell's UOP will be present at the flight on Tuesday morning.
It will be the world's first commercial aviation test flight powered by a sustainable second-generation biofuel.
The two-hour test flight, predominantly over the wider Hauraki Gulf area, will be powered by a 50:50 blend of jatropha and Jet A1 fuel.
The jatropha plant produces seeds that contain inedible lipid oil, which is used to produce fuel.
During the flight the crew will conduct a number of fuel tests confirming and measuring the performance of the engine and fuel systems at various altitudes and under a variety of operating conditions.
