KEY POINTS:
Air New Zealand staff around the world will wear black ribbons and observe a minute's silence on Friday - one week on from the tragedy that killed seven people.
The silence will be observed at 9am New Zealand time.
"We will leave it to each Air New Zealander to decide how they mark this time at either work or home," the airline said yesterday.
"In the interests of customer service in operational areas, it may be appropriate to announce the fact that we are observing a minute's silence beforehand."
Black ribbons will be available from tomorrow morning for "Air New Zealanders" to wear on Friday to publicly acknowledge their loss.
