Air NZ plane struck by lightning, lands safely

An Air New Zealand plane has landed safely in Christchurch, after being struck by lightning.

A Christchurch International Airport spokeswoman says emergency services were put on alert following the strike just after midday, but were not needed.

No passengers were injured and no damage has been caused to the plane.
