An Air New Zealand flight from Auckland to Wellington was cancelled this morning after a problem with the aircraft's nose wheel emerged while it was taxiing from the gate to the runway.
Air NZ spokeswoman Brigitte Ransom said passengers on board flight NZ423 returned to the terminal and were "reaccommodated on alternative services".
Initial reports that the nose wheel suffered a blowout were incorrect, Ms Ransom said.
The aircraft was a A320.
The number of passengers on board and cause of the problem were not available immediately.
