Air New Zealand, fresh from a court defeat over its airfare advertising, has changed the way it shows the price of travelling on its planes.
The airline, prosecuted by the Commerce Commission for breaching the Fair Trading Act, was told by District Court Judge Stan Thorburn that fuel costs were an operating expense and "ought not to be separated out from a headline price" .
Its website now shows prices including the fuel surcharge, but with the headline price then followed by "airport and govt costs".
The airline has yet to be sentenced.
