The Air Force is offering free tickets to its Ohakea airshow to people who bought tickets to the stalled Wings and Wheels over Waikato event.
The Wings and Wheels air and car show was due to take place at Hamilton Airport at the weekend weekend but was postponed indefinitely, riling sponsors and ticket-holders who had invested heavily in the event.
The Commerce Commission has taken court action over the airshow.
The commission confirmed it had obtained a court order freezing the assets of Hawker Holding, airshow.co.nz - Media Ltd, airshow.co.nz Ltd and the event organiser Kenneth James Ross.
The matter will go to hearing in the High Court at Auckland on Wednesday.
The Royal New Zealand Air Force says its open day and air show at Ohakea next Sunday will be free for those who bought tickets to the Hamilton airshow.
Air Vice-Marshal Graham Lintott, the Air Force's chief, said it shared the disappointment of punters who had bought tickets to the postponed show.
He said the Air Force was keen to showcase NZ aviation and the Service.
Air Vice-Marshal Lintott said people wanting a free ticket to the Ohakea show would need to show proof they had bought a Hamilton airshow ticket.
The organiser of the Waikato show said the event would now be held next year and asked people to be patient.
Ken Ross told the Waikato Times it was definitely "our commitment to go ahead with the postponed air show".
Mr Ross said he planned to hold the event in February.
"All tickets will be fully honoured at the rescheduled event.
"I have fully co-operated with the Commerce Commission inquiry and am here to reassure all ticket-holders, sponsors and exhibitors that the money is being held in a New Zealand trust account at the National Bank."
He would not say who the trustees were.
