Air Force gets in some cold-weather training

An Iroquois helicopter from the Air Force's No 3 squadron touches down in the northern South Island yesterday.

Three choppers and 30 staff took part in Exercise Blackbird, which took advantage of the snowscape to test mountain flying skills.

Two Iroquois were part of the Defence Force contingent that brought aid to snowbound Canterbury.
