Air Force and Army personnel will take part in urban flying operations training starting from this Sunday.
The training, organised by the New Zealand Defence Force, will take place around the Kaipara Air Weapons Range and about the Auckland central business district, from Sunday May 24, to Thursday May 28.
Over this time, members of the public may see NH90 and A109 helicopters flying over the city in formation, however all flying would conclude by 10pm each evening.
Head of air operations Air Commodore Kevin McEvoy said the training was essential to maintaining Defence Force readiness for emergency situations.
"The NZDF is always on standby to respond to any crisis or emergency situation in New Zealand," he said.
