Ah, lucky Irish ... celebration is all day in pub

The only Irish bar in town will be celebrating St Patrick's Day this weekend with food, music and Guinness all day.

Joxer Daly's Steak & Ale House Owner Rosemarie Cavaney said she was excited about Sunday's celebration.

Staff spend the whole year planning for the day, and will once again dress up as leprechauns.

"It's the biggest day of the year for us," she said.

"It's a whole different atmosphere."

The pub will have bands Grafia Trio, Dean Parkinson and Jedi Nights from 10am, and a special VIP area will be set up.

The bands will perform in the car park which will also be closed off for the party.

A cooked brunch will be available all day as well as pizza and chips, and the Jagermeister bus will be there.

"It's a good day."

The White Swan, Greytown, is also encouraging people to get into the spirit of St Patrick's Day and is offering prizes for dressing up and a leprechaun lucky dip.
