KEY POINTS:
All of the animals featured for adoption in the Summer Herald have found homes.
The Herald's Adopt Me series started on Boxing Day and has profiled 11 animals from the SPCA headquarters at Mangere.
From Timmy the three-legged dog, to the adorable tabby kitten, to Chloe, the ridgeback-cross senior citizen, all have gone to caring homes.
The organisation has found homes for more than 250 previously unwanted animals since the series started.
Auckland SPCA's chief executive, Bob Kerridge, said he was delighted.
"Adoptions this year have been exceptional and we are so grateful to the Herald for sharing the plight of these animals with the public and stimulating this exceptional interest in adopting from the SPCA. Of course a big thank you to all those who adopted," he said.
Katrina Pram and her family from Wattle Downs adopted Felicity, a sweet-natured and loving black and white cat, featured on January 2.
Felicity has settled into her new home with Ms Pram's son, 7-year-old Liam.
"We were specifically looking for a cat like 2-year-old Felicity rather than a kitten. We work and thought the cat would be a good option."
Ms Pram said the family had always had dogs, but their boxer passed away after nine years and "we've never wanted to replace her".
"Felicity has settled in marvellously. She was already toilet-trained, so that was an extra bonus."
Afi, the white ridgeback-cross bull terrier featured just before New Year, went to a home with a very active couple.
The SPCA reports she gets lots of exercise at the park and beach, and gets to go camping and on bike rides.
Mr Kerridge said there were still a lot of animals out at foster homes, and still a lot waiting their stray time and yet to come through the system.
