Actress and writer Liddy Holloway died in Auckland yesterday after a long bout of cancer. She was 59.
Holloway was a television veteran and a regular on Shortland Street, where she played Alex McKenna, married to clinic boss Dr Michael McKenna and mother of Rachel.
In the past year she was in dispute with the Film Commission over her contract as one of Whale Rider's original scriptwriters. One of the things she was seeking was a credit on the film.
Holloway is survived by her three children, including actor and musician Joel Tobeck.
