A group of Auckland actors turned out to court in Auckland today to support colleague Rob Mokoraka.
The 36 year old has been convicted of threatening to kill police with an imitation gun after rushing at them at his home last year. He was shot at the scene and spent five months in hospital.
In sentencing, Judge Mary Beth Sharpe said there was little worth in sending Mokoraka, to prison - and ordered he do 400 hours community work.
Mokoraka's lawyer Peter Daker said his client was remorseful and wanted to publicly apologise to the police involved.
About 15 friends, including comedian Raybon Kan, turned up in support.
