KEY POINTS:
Hollywood star Jamie Lee Curtis has taken delivery of the first emissions-free, hydrogen-powered FCX Clarity to be sold in America.
The FCX Clarity is powered by a silent 100kW electric engine.
Its only by-products are heat and water vapour and its fuel efficiency is claimed to be three times that of a petrol-powered car.
"I really wasn't expecting it to be so luxurious," says Curtis.
At least 200 customers will begin leasing the vehicle in the America and Japan over the next three years.
Actor Laura Harris from TV show 24 and film producer Ron Yerxa are others from the entertainment world who drive the Clarity.
