A New Zealand anti-whaling activist in custody since he climbed aboard a Japanese harpoon ship in Antarctic waters is in good health, unrestrained and eating three meals a day, Japanese officials said yesterday.
Peter Bethune is likely to be taken to Japan, where law enforcement authorities want to question him. Mr Bethune, a member of the militant environmental group Sea Shepherd, had boarded the Shonan Maru 2 intent on making a citizen's arrest of its captain.
