Martinborough Motorcycle Club had every reason to feel satisfied with the success of their club day held on Martin's property last weekend.
The venue was outstanding and money raised from the activities went towards St John's new ambulance, a very worthwhile cause.
The racing was both fast and entertaining with Braddick Hall dominating the mini's section and showing he will be a force to be reckoned with at the mini nationals in Mangatainoka this weekend.
Benjamin Murray had another good day on his KTM50 and the Hooper brothers, Jonty, Mitch and Cole, were impressive as well
Senior riders competed in two groups and in the A section Simon Butler demonstrated his undoubted talent, leading from the start and never being headed.
The older this guy gets the better he seems to perform!
Clarke Goddard, Dwayne Swanson, Jake Pirinoa and James Shaw all gave consistent showings.
In the second group yours truly had the opportunity to ride a CDRF250R from Langland's Honda and what a treat it was.
These bikes are produced for the average to pro rider.
As it happened I did come last but it had nothing to do with the bike! Jim Moore, David Pillar and Ben Herrick all rode well.
The junior class had 12 competitors with Jay Langlands using his experience to good advantage and taking the honours.
Mario Dellabarca also achieved some good results as did Camden Butler and Angus Brown.
The latter two have just moved up to the 85cc class this year.
Finally, mention again of the mini nationals at Mangatainoka.
There are a number of locals entered so anybody with a few hours to spare would do well to head for Tui country for some entertaining sport.
Action aplenty at Motorcycle Club day
