ACT's Ken Shirley says issues which would embarrass the Government have been specifically excluded from an Audit Office probe into Te Wananga O Aotearoa.
He is incensed the inquiry will not cover the wananga's enrolment practices, the appropriateness and levels of funding or concerns about the quality of courses.
Mr Shirley says those areas are critical to getting to the bottom of the debacle.
He says if fraudulent behaviour was to be found, it would be identified in the wananga's enrolment practices.
Ken Shirley says he is more convinced than ever, that a fuller inquiry is needed.
He says areas which would embarrass the Government and expose the failings of its agencies have been specifically excluded and he will push on with his calls for an independent inquiry.
