Police have charged a man with using threatening notes to carry out "silent" robberies at three South Auckland banks and shops.
Ben Bosch Herkt, 35, is accused of walking into the National Bank on Great South Road, Papakura on January 4, and handing over a written note to the teller saying he had a gun.
The teller handed handed over cash.
The offender used the same method at BNZ Bank on Great South Road in Manurewa on January 11, and again at the Post Shop on the same road on January 12.
Herkt will appear in Manukau District Court this morning, police said.
