Police prosecutor Sergeant Garry Wilson said a few days after Trotman had been granted the exemption he was found elsewhere in Masterton.
In his previous court appearance, he said it had been lunchtime and he was "entitled to lunch".
He was released on the same bail conditions.
However, he was rearrested by police on Thursday eating fish and chips with his partner at the riverbank and appeared before Judge Barbara Morris, with police opposing bail.
"He'd already been warned about breaching," she said.
Duty lawyer Frank Minehan said his client was willing to be subject to a 24-hour curfew and stop attending the course so he could remain on bail.
However, Judge Morris said Trotman was clearly breaching his bail conditions and remanded him in custody to reappear on September 2.
Trotman is due to enter pleas to burglary and possession of cannabis charges on that date.
